Mother nature comes knocking (sometimes bangingggggg) at our doors. And no matter how many periods we have cried through, we are never ready for the next one coming.
So if you just decide to sit in your cute cozy blanket and try to chill, I’m sorry to break your heart but it’s not gonna work :/ Because,
Despite all the pain and mood swings, here are TEN quick, easy yet authentic period hacks which will help ease out the days just like the normal ones 😉
Also, there’s a great great tip for all you beauties at the end ?
VICKS VAPORUB/ PEESAFE
Say bye bye to those nasty cramps with any cold relief balms such as vicks vaporub or a cramp relief roll-on like the one from peesafe. The idea is to have something with eucalyptus oil in it to ease out the muscle soreness, increases circulation in the area and is a natural anti- inflammatory.
Use a tiny amount of vicks onto the stomach or lower abdomen at night to have a good night’s rest. same goes with the peesafe roll on.
If i go by what my mom says, you should not consume pain killers during your periods because after some time you’ll get addicted to it and your immune system won’t work without the medications.
Instead, use our favourite ancient remedy of turmeric milk to have a painless day at work. Just warm a glass of milk and add a pinch of turmeric in it. it acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, reduces mood swings and prevents sleep disturbances.
INVEST IN A HOT WATER BAG
I live on a hot water electric bag during my bloody days. You can use the normal rubber one or make your own diy bag by pouring a glass of rice into a socks or any cloth and microwave it for about 1-2 minutes. Voila! You now have your cute little heat bag. But having a one is a must guys.
USE LIGHTER COLOUR PANTIES
Using a lighter colour panty is a major drill here because if we get a stain on it it will be clearly seen and we can prevent further damage. But it is certainly not possible with a darker colour one. So if damage starts to happen, it will happen during the time every person around you knows about it ッ
USE SYNTHETIC OR STAINLESS PANTIES
Sticking to panties, if you are a person who gets stains no matter what the hell you do to prevent it (like the person writing this), YOU NEED A SYNTHETIC PANTY in your life. I repeat you need it. It doesn’t stain. It doesn’t give you rashes. By chance if it gets stain, it is very very very easy to remove it. Moreover, It is quite in budget too.
EAT ALL THE CHOCOLATE IN THE WORLD
No no no no, this is not the case. Excess of everything is bad infact extremely bad for your health specially during periods.
But on the brighter side, you can eat dark chocolate which has at least 65% of cacao in it. You can also fulfil of your cravings of chocolate ice creams like the Belgium one or choco chips one. Studies have said that chocolates improve mood swings, cramps, iron levels in the body(important) and relax the muscles.
Studies have been proved absolutely right in my case though. What about yours? <3
NO CAFFEINE AND SALTY SNACKS
I know it is hard to deal with no coffee for the day or maybe no pizza with that extra oregano but consuming caffeine or salty snacks can worsen your cramps by increasing the number of cramps you experience. And I think you may not want that 🙁 so avoid them or take them in small amounts.
If considering my opinion, have some chamomile tea or green tea lemonade as they have relaxing properties in it and will surely help to soothe those cramps.
DRINK AS MUCH WATER AS YOU CAN
I have come across so many people saying that we should not drink water during those days but debunking this myth, i say to drink as much water as you can but just not gulp glasses of water one after the other as it may cause bloating. Instead try some detox water with lemon and ginger in it. But do not dehydrate yourself as your body is already giving away a lot.
DIY TISSUE PAD
What if emergency knocked at your door when outside. Oh no, don’t you worry. You can make your own by some tissue papers or even toilet papers.
Grab some tissue papers and start placing the stack on the crotch of your panty. And then wrap a long piece of paper horizontally 4-5 times or even more until it is held tight and strong. And now run!! To the nearest medicos or home whichever is nearer. Because this will last you not more than 1.5-2 hours.
THE TOP SECRET TIP
Call your best friend or boyfriend and cry about your current life situations and all the cravings you are having right now and all the dreams you’ll be full filling after these bloody days get over. Trust me, you’ll feel A LOT better.
You are not suppose to share it much because then your friends would hang on you if they get to know about your periods in the first place!
Keep smiling and loving! <3
